PILOTS


SECTION 5. – PILOTS (LICENCE FEES) ORDER


Made by the Governor in Council


Order 27th Feb., 1914 [in force 6th March, 1914].


Short title.


1. This Order may be cited as the Pilots (Licence Fees) Order.


Fees for licences.


2. The sums which may be demanded by licensed pilots shall be as follows:-

SECTION 11. – PILLOTAGE ORDER


Order of the Governor in Council


Order 22nd March 1957.


Short title.


1. This Order may be cited as the Pilotage Order.


Pilotage rates.


2. The sums which may be demanded by licensed pilots shall be as follows:-


(a) For every ship piloted inwards or outwards including weighing anchor or unberthing at a wharf or buoys at place of departure and anchoring or berthing at a wharf or buoys at place of destination; and including anchoring and weighing anchor en route for reason of weather or visibility, engine failure and such like, medical and/or mosquito inspection, per nautical mile travelled -

A pilot standing by a vessel for any reason whatsoever shall be paid
for each hour or part thereof that he is standing by ...............................

A pilot travelling from his home port to join a vessel at some other
port or place, or returning to his home port after leaving a vessel at
some other port or place, shall be paid for each hour or part thereof
that he is travelling or so returning (inclusive of any time necessarily
spent in awaiting suitable means of transportation to his home port) ...

3. A pilot whilst proceeding on a vessel from one port or place to another port or place shall be provided with accommodation and subsistence on such vessel equal to that enjoyed by the vessel's senior officers. If not so provided a pilot shall be paid in respect of accommodation twenty shillings a day and in respect of subsistence twenty shillings a day.


4. A pilot standing by a vessel if not provided with accommodation and subsistence on board the vessel equal to that enjoyed by the vessel's senior officers shall be paid such sum as is reasonable for his accommodation and subsistence ashore.


5. A pilot who is entitled to be paid the charges prescribed in paragraph 2 (d) above shall also be paid such, sum as may be reasonable for his accommodation and subsistence whilst travelling or returning and shall also be paid towards the cost of his transportation a sum of not less than that normally charged for travel by taxi, aeroplane or passenger vessel.
