AN ORDINANCE
TO AMEND THE CENSUS ORDINANCE BY PROVIDING FOR MATTERS IN RESPECT OF WHICH PARTICULARS MAY BE REQUIRED ADDITIONAL TO THOSE PRESCRIBED BY THE SCHEDULE TO THE CENSUS ORDINANCE
Commencement: 11 January 1979
ENACTED by the Governor with the advice and consent of the House of Assembly:-
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Census (Amendment) Ordinance 1978.
Amendment of the Schedule to CAP. 16.
2. The Schedule to the Census Ordinance is amended by inserting the following matters in respect of which returns shall be required to be stated on any census return:
"7A | Mortality |
7B | Economic resources |
7C | Education". |
This printed impression has been carefully examined by me with the Bill which passed the House of Assembly on the 21st day of December 1978 and is found by me to be a true and correctly printed copy of the said Bill.

CENSUS (AMENDMENT) BILL, 1978
EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
1. The Census ordinance is the authority for obtaining the particulars necessary for an official enumeration of the population with
statistics relating to them.
2. The Bill extends the matters in respect of which particulars may be required to those relating to mortality, economic resources
and education.
