AN ACT TO AMEND THE INTERPRETATION AND GENERAL CLAUSES ORDINANCE (CAP. 46); AND FOR CONNECTED PURPOSES

Commencement: 1990

MADE by the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and assented to by the Beretitenti.

Short title.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Interpretation and General Clauses (Amendment) Act 1990.

(2) For the purposes of the Interpretation and Genera Clauses Ordinance the section headings in this Act shall be deemed to be marginal notes.

Amendment of section 15.

2. Section 15 of the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance is hereby repealed and the following new section substituted -

"15. A marginal note to, or section heading of any provision of any enactment shall not have any legislative effect and shall not in any way limit or extend the interpretation of any enactment."
