An act requiring the maintenance of a bulletin board and the posting of price lists for consumer goods on ships, prescribing penalties for tampering with bulletin boards and price lists, and for other purposes. [Section numbering style modified to conform to new Code format Rev.2003)]

§601. Short title.
This Chapter may be cited as the "Bulletin Boards and Price Lists Act 1976". [Note: Section 1 has been added to conform this Chapter to the format of this Revised Code]
§602. Bulletin board.
The owner of every ship from which food or merchandise is sold at retail in the Republic shall install and maintain in good repair on the ship a bulletin board. This board shall be located on the ship in a place convenient for public inspection; it shall be large enough to accommodate the papers required to be posted by this Chapter; and it shall be so constructed that those papers are easily readable, and to prevent their removal or alteration, shall be secured under plastic or glass by a lock, the keys to which shall be the property and in the exclusive possession of the Secretary of Transportation. §603. Posting of price lists.
Before any ship sails from Majuro, every person shipping food or merchandise for sale in the outer islands shall give the Secretary of Transportation two (2) copies of a list of the prices to be charged by the supercargo on that ship for each item of food or merchandise available for sale. The Secretary of Transportation shall sign both copies of this list and shall post one copy on the ship's bulletin board, and he shall deliver the second copy to the Majuro Communication Station for its reference in answering inquiries it receives from the outer islands. The Secretary of Transportation may adopt a seal to be affixed to each price list he receives. [DL. 23-8, §3(1976).]
§604. Tampering with bulletin boards or price lists.
No person with the intent to evade or frustrate the purpose or effect of this Chapter shall alter, post, or remove a price list; unlock, force, or damage a bulletin board; obtain or possess the key to a bulletin board; or copy, reproduce, obtain, or possess a seal adopted by the Secretary of Transportation in accordance with this Chapter . §604. Penalties.
Every person violating any provision of this Chapter, including failure to install and maintain a bulletin board and failure to deliver price lists in accordance with this Chapter, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding $500 or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months, or both.
