FOREIGN AFFAIRS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2009.

AN ACT

to amend Section 610(1) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Act 2007, in order to remove the Office of the Deputy Secretary.

ENACTED BY THE NITIJELA OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE
MARSHALL ISLANDS:

Section 1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as Foreign Affairs (Amendment) Act, 2009.

Section 2. Amendment.

(i) Section 610 (1) (c) of the Foreign Affairs Act, 2007 is hereby deleted in its entirety as follows:

§610 Administrative Division of Headquarters

(1) For the effective administration of this Act, the Ministry headquarters will consist of the following core function areas;

(a) Office of the Minister;

(b) Office of the Secretary

(c) Office of the Legal Advisor;

(d) Policy advisor, planning and research

(e) Bureau of Management

(f) Bureau of multilateral affairs;

(g) Bureau of bilateral affairs;

(h) Bureau of US affairs;

(i) Office of Compact Implement

Section 3. Effective Date.

This Act shall take effect on the date of certification in accordance with the Constitution and Rules of Procedures of the Nitijela.

CERTIFICATE

I hereby certify:

(1) That Nitijela Bill No.:41 was passed by the Nitijela of the Republic of the Marshall Islands on the 13th day of May, 2009; and

(2) That I am satisfied that Nitijela Bill No.:41 was passed in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Rules of Procedures of the Nitijela.
