IMPORT DUTIES (AMENDMENT) ACT 2015

ACT
To amend Title 48, Chapter 2 MIRC, in order to provide exception on import duty for Renewable Energy Vehicles.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE NITIJELA OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS:
Section 1. Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Import Duties (Amendment) Act, 2015.
Section 2. Amendment.
Section 207 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting a new language as follows:
"§207. Exception for Renewable Energy Vehicle.
(1) No import duty shall be levied on Renewable Energy Vehicles.
(2) For the purposes of this Section, "Renewable Energy Vehicle" means electric vehicle, completely or directly powered by renewable energy including hybrid-electrical vehicles."
Section 3. Effective Date
This Act shall take effect in accordance with the Constitution and the Rules of Procedures of the Nitijela.
