SEVENTH OLBIIL ERA KELULAU

Thirty-Second Special Session, April 2008 (Re: as Senate Bill No. 7-233, SD2)
AN ACT
To repeal Section 8 of RPPL No. 6-50; and for other related purposes.
THE PEOPLE OF PALAU REPRESENTED IN THE OLBIIL ERA KELULAU DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repealer. Section 8 of RPPL No. 6-50, amending 23 PNC §1405 to add a new subsection (b), is hereby repealed. The language of 23 PNC §1405 as enacted prior to RPPL No. 6-50 is hereby reinstated to read as follows:
'§ 1405. Re-registration. Any voter who changes his residence from one voting precinct to another, or who changes his name, after registration in any general district register, may register again in such general district register under the proper voting precinct or the proper name and the Election Commission or its authorized representative shall cancel the former registration by drawing one or more lines through the name of such voter as previously registered and enter or cause to be entered his own signature and the date of cancellation with ink on the same line; provided, that no such registration shall be allowed on account of any change of residence or name made within 60 days before an election.'
Any voter who has had his or her registration canceled pursuant to 23 PNC §1405(b) for failure to vote in the November 2004 quadrennial general election is hereby automatically reinstated, and the Election Commission or its authorized representative shall enter or cause to be entered the reinstated registration onto the rolls."
Section 2. Effective date. This Act shall take effect upon its approval by the President, or upon becoming law without such approval.
