INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT) ACT 2001

AN ACT
TO AMEND THE INTERPRETATION ACT

[3rd September, 2001].

BE IT ENACTED by the King and the Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Interpretation (Amendment) Act 2001.

(2) The Interpretation Act (Cap 1), as amended, is in this Act referred to as The Principal Act.

2. Section 31(1) of the Principal Act is amended by-

(i) deleting "$200" in (a) and substituting therefore "$5000";

(ii) deleting "$400" in (b) and substituting therefore "$10,000";

(iii) deleting "$1000" in (c) and substituting therefore "$20,000";

(iv) deleting "$2000" in (d) and substituting therefore "$30,000".

Passed by the Legislative Assembly this 3rd day of September, 2001.

(i) tamate'i 'a e "$200" 'i he (a) pea fetongi 'aki 'a e "$5,000";

(ii) tamate'i 'a e "$400" 'i he (b) pea fetongi 'aki 'a e "$10,000";

(iii) tamate'i 'a e "$1,000" 'i he (c) pea fetongi 'aki 'a e "$20,000";

(iv) tamate'i 'a e "$2,000" 'i he (d) pea fetongi 'aki 'a e "$30,000".
