AN ACT TO AMEND THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ACT TO PROVIDE DIFFERENTLY FOR CERTAIN EFFECTS OF CONVICTIONS OF NOBLES

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Legislative Assembly (Amendment) Act 2013..

2 Section 4 amended

Section 4 of the Legislative Assembly Act is amended:

(a) in the English version only by repealing "has not been found guilty of an indictable offence" and replacing those words with "is not disabled by clause 23 of the Constitution"; and

(b) in the Tongan version only by repealing "'oku te'eki te ne mo'ua 'i he talisone pe angatu'u pe ha hiamatea" and replacing those words with "‟oku „ikai fakatapui ia „i he kupu 23 „o e Konisitutone".
