MAINTENANCE OF DESERTED WIVES (AMENDMENT) ACT 1992

AN ACT
TO AMEND THE MAINTENANCE OF DESERTED WIVES ACT

[1st September, 1992.]

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Maintenance of Deserted Wives (Amendment) Act 1992.

(2) The Maintenance of Deserted Wives Act (Cap. 31), as amended, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2. The Principal Act is amended by adding the following new section after Section 6.

"7. The lodging of an appeal to the Supreme Court from an order made under section 2 shall not, pending the appeal, suspend the operation of the order or any part thereof."
