AN ACT

TO AMEND THE SHIPPING ACT

BE IT ENACTED by the King and the Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Shipping (Amendment) Act 2009.

(2) The Shipping Act (Cap. 136) shall be referred to in this Act, as the Principal Act.

2. Section 196(1) of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the first word "The" and replacing it with "Except where a Commission of Inquiry into a particular incident has been ordered, the".
