SALES TAX REPEAL ACT 2003

AN ACT
TO REPEAL THE SALES TAX ACT

[27th of October, 2003.]

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Sales Tax (Repeal) Act, 2003.

(2) This Act shall come into force on the date of commencement of the Consumption Tax Act 2003.

2. The Sales Tax Act (Cap. 69) is hereby repealed.

3. Notwithstanding subsection (2) of this Act, the Sales Tax Act (Cap. 69) shall continue to apply for all purposes whatsoever in respect of goods and services subject to the Sales Tax Act (Cap. 69) before the commencement date of the Consumption Tax Act 2003.

Neongo 'a e kupu si'i(2) 'o e Lao ni, kuo pau ke hoko atu hono ngaue'aki 'a e Lao ki he Tukuhau Fakatau Atu (Vahe 69) ki he ngaahi taumu'a kotoa felave'i mo e ngaahi koloa mo e ngaahi ngaue fakatatau ki he Lao ki he Tukuhau Fakatau Atu (Vahe 69) kimu'a 'i he 'aho 'e kamata ngaue'aki ai 'a e Lao ki he Tukuhau Ngaue'aki 2003.
