TONGA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD (AMENDMENT) ACT 2003

AN ACT
TO AMEND THE TONGA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD ACT

[23rd October, 2003.]

BE IT ENACTED by the King and the Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Tonga Electric Power Board (Amendment) Act 2003.

(2) The Tonga Electric Power Board Act (Cap. 93), as amended, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by -

(i) deleting from the marginal note the following words "to generate electricity"; and

(ii) inserting after the word "generate" appearing in the section, a comma and the following words "transmit, supply and distribute".

Passed in the Legislative Assembly this 23 day of October, 2003.

(2) 'Oku ui 'a e Lao ki he Ngaahi Komiti 'Uhila 'a Tonga (Vahe 93), 'i hono fakatonutonu, 'i he Lao ni ko e Tefito'i Lao.

2. 'Oku fakatonutonu 'a e kupu 3 'o e Tefito 'i Lao 'aki hono -

(i) tamate'i mei he fakamatala nounou 'i he tapa 'o e peesi 'a e ngaahi lea ni "ke fakatupu ha 'uhila"; pea

(ii) fakahu ant hili 'a e lea "fakatupu" 'oku ha 'i he kupu, ha koma mo e ngaahi lea ko 'eni "fakahoko atu, 'oatu mo tufaki".
