CIVIL AVIATION (PASSENGER SERVICE CHARGE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2003

CIVIL AVIATION ACT 1990

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the Minister of Civil Aviation, with the consent of Cabinet, makes the following Regulations:

1.

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Passenger Service Charge) (Amendment) Regulations 2003.

(2). The Civil Aviation (Passenger Service Charge) Regulations 1996, as amended, are in these Regulations referred to as the Principal Regulations.

Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is deleted and substituting therefore the following:

"3. Unless otherwise exempted under these Regulations any passenger 12 years of age or older embarking on an aircraft at an airport within Tonga shall pay a passenger service charge of $25 for a destination outside Tonga or $5 for a destination within Tonga."

3. Regulation 5(d) of the Principal Regulations is amended by deleting the number "2" and substituting therefore the number "12".

4. Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is amended by deleting the word "deemed" in line 2.

5. Regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations is deleted.

6. The Civil Aviation (Passenger Service Charge) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 of 13 December 2001 and 23 July 2002 are hereby repealed.
