ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES REGULATIONS 2014

WHEREAS the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 2010 which came into force upon Royal Assent on the 6th day of May 2010 and was published in the Gazette on the 10th day of May 2010 requires in section 20 that the Electoral Boundaries Commission make regulations to determine, define and establish the boundaries of electoral constituencies;

AND WHEREAS the Electoral Boundaries Commission was established by section 3 of the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 2010 and is comprised of those members duly appointed by His Majesty in Council in accordance with section 4 of the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 2010;

AND WHEREAS the Electoral Boundaries Commission has determined the boundaries of electoral constituencies in accordance with sections 17, 18 and 19(b) of the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 2010 (as amended);

NOW THEREFORE
The Electoral Boundaries Commission, in exercise of the powers contained in sections 16(b) and 20 of the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act 2010 hereby makes the following regulations:

1 Short Title

These Regulations may be cited as the Electoral Boundaries Regulations 2014.

2 Electoral Boundaries Regulations 2010 repealed

The Electoral Boundaries Regulations 2010 is repealed and replaced with these regulations in accordance with regulations 3 and 4.

3 Electoral Boundaries for next general election

(1) The boundaries of the 17 electoral constituencies for the 2014 general election of the representatives of the people shall be as set out in the Schedules to these regulations.

(2) The boundaries shall come into effect on the date of the 2014 general election as declared in the Writ of Election issued pursuant to the Electoral Act 1989.

4 Commencement

These Regulations shall come into force on the date of the Gazette Notice.
