In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(1) of the Public Service Act, and pursuant to Order 1.1.8 of the General Administrative Orders 2000, the Minister makes the following amendments to the General Administrative Orders 2000.

Short title

1. These Orders may be cited as the General Administrative Orders (Amendments No. 2/2003 Orders 2003.

Commencement

2. These Orders shall be deemed to have come into operation retrospectively from 1st day of January 2003.

Amendment to General Administrative Order 9.1.27

3. Order 9.1.27 of General Administrative Order 2000 is amended by inserting the following:

(i) That the existing paragraph under Order 9.1.27 shall be numbered as paragraph (1);

(ii) That the following new paragraphs (2) (3) and (4) are to be inserted —

"(2) An officer who opted to take his/her leave entitlement in any place other than his/her home island shall be entitled to the free leave passage under paragraph (1) of this Order, calculated to the amount equivalent to the cost of as ea passage from Funafuti to the officer's home island.

(3) The entitlement shall neither be reimbursable where the actual expense is less than the passage entitlement nor paid in cash to the officer.

(4) The entitlement shall lapse if the officer fails to take his/her leave for that leave year."
