PUBLIC ORDER (DELEGATION)

Order 31 of 1989

1. Delegation of powers
The Minister of Home Affairs hereby delegates, subject to section 2 of this Order, the powers conferred upon him under sections 6, 7(2), 7(5), 7(6), 8 and 17 of the Public Order Act [Cap. 84] to the following public officers:

(a) The Commissioner of Police, in respect of the Municipality of Port Vila;

(b) The District Police Commander of Santo, in respect of the Municipality of Luganville;

(c) Each Local Government Council Secretary, in respect of the area for which he is responsible.

2. Conditions and directions
In exercising the powers delegated under section 1 of this Order, the public officers referred to in that section shall comply with the directions issued from time to time by the Minister of Home Affairs.
