Taxis (Inspection of Public Vehicles Fees)

TAXIS (INSPECTION OF PUBLIC VEHICLES FEES)

Order 6 of 1991

An Order to prescribe the fees for inspection of public vehicles.

1. Inspection Fee
(1) Every vehicle in respect of which an application for a public vehicle licence or the renewal thereof is made under section 9(1) of the Taxis Act [Cap. 49] shall be charged and paid in respect of the inspection of such vehicle a fee at the following rates:

(a) for inspection on application for a public vehicle licence VT 3,000;

(b) for inspection on application for the renewal of a public vehicle licence VT 3,000;

(c) for the issue of a certificate of Mechanical Fitness VT 500;

(2) Any fee referred to in subsection (1) payable on the grant of a public vehicle licence or the renewal of the public vehicle licence in respect of the inspection of the vehicle or the issue of the certificate of Mechanical Fitness in respect of such vehicle shall be paid before the applicant is granted a licence, renewal or certificate of Mechanical Fitness.

(3) Any fee payable under this Order shall be paid to the Director of Public Works or an officer at the Public Works Department authorized, in writing, in that behalf by the Director.
