An Act to amend the Official Salaries Act No. 11 of 1983.

BE IT ENATED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF THE SCHEDULE TO ACT No. 11 OF 1983

1. The Schedule to the Official Salaries Act No. 11 of 1983 as amended is further amended as follows:-

(1) In Part I of that Schedule -

(a) by the addition after the last item under the heading 'officers' in column 1 in that Part, of the item 'Principal Private Secretary to the President' and by the addition in the corresponding entries in columns 2 and 3 under the headings 'salary (annual except as otherwise stated)' and 'Other Benefits' of the following two items respectively -

'1,389,080' and 'B + D + E + G + I + J'

(b) by the addition of the following expression to each item under the heading 'Other Benefits' in Column 3 of that Part:-

"+ I + J"

(2) In Part 2 of that Schedule -

(a) in the item under the heading 'CLASS D' by the substitution for the expression 'VT 1,000' of the expression 'VT 1,200'; and

(b) by the addition after the entry under the heading 'CLASS H', of the following:-

"CLASS I

The payment or the reimbursement of the actual cost of transport between Vila and home island and return for journey on the most direct route on home leave.

CLASS J

Cost of living allowance of VT 2,500 a month."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
