THE VANUATU NATIONAL PROVIDENT FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT
No. 17 OF 1989

To amend the Vanuatu National Provident Fund Act No. 1 of 1986.

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 8 OF ACT No. 1 OF 1986

1. Section 8 of the Vanuatu National Provident Fund Act No. 1 of 1986 is amended by the repeal of subsections (1) and (2) of that section, and the substitution of the following subsections:-

"(1) The Board shall with the prior approval of the Minister and subject to subsection (2) appoint upon such terms and conditions as the Board may think fit a General Manager who shall be an employee of the Board.

(2) The General Manager who shall be the chief executive of the Board and of all its operations, shall be appointed for a term not exceeding five years, and may with the prior approval of the Minister be eligible for reappointment."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
