THE BANKRUPTCY (AMENDMENT) RULES 1979

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 132 of the Bankruptcy Act 1914(a), with the concurrence of the Secretary of State for Trade, and after consulting the committee appointed under section 10 of the Insolvency Act 1976(b), hereby makes the following Rules:-
1.-(1) These Rules may be cited as the Bankruptcy (Amendment) Rules 1979 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1980.
(2) The amendments set out in these Rules shall be made to the Rules 1952(c).
2. Rule 49 shall be omitted.
3. In Rule 331(3), the words "gazetting and" shall be omitted.
4. Paragraph (2) of Rule 342 shall be omitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Note is not part of the Rules.)
These Rules make such consequential amendments to the Bankruptcy Rules 1952 as are necessary to take account of the Bankruptcy Fees (Amendment No. 2) Order 1979 (S.I. 1979/1589), which abolishes the use of adhesive stamps for the payment of fees and the separate fee for the insertion of notices in the London Gazette.
