An Act for compiling reprints or a composite edition of the enactments in force in Western Samoa
[19 December 1972
1. Short title - This Act may be cited as the Reprint of Statutes Act 1972.
2. Interpretation - For the purposes of this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, the term "Statute" means any Act or Ordinance, and includes any regulations, rules, orders and notices made under the authority of an Act or Ordinance.
3. Powers and functions of Attorney-General - The Attorney-General shall have the following powers and functions in the reprint from time to time of any Statutes:
(a) He may prepare and arrange for the publication of a composite reprint edition of the Constitution and Statutes in such form as he shall consider desirable;
(b) He may prepare a separate reprint of the Constitution or any Statute;
(c) He may omit formal, enacting or introductory words;
(d) Unless inconsistent with the context, he shall revise and correct obsolete references to Statutes and any office, department, board, or any other body whatsoever;
(e) He may omit all repealed or, revoked provisions and he may renumber remaining provisions accordingly;
(f) He shall make such alterations as may be necessary to conform to current drafting style and practice, and to reconcile any contradictions, supply any omissions, and amend any imperfections in the form of the existing Statutes.
The Public Service Regulations 1953, Amendment No. 3 (W.S.R. 1976/3) were made pursuant to this Act.

4. Carrying Act into operation - Statutes reprinted as aforesaid may be printed and compiled or bound in such manner as the Attorney-General may direct.
5. Copy of Statute printed under Act to be evidence - Every copy of any Statute printed under the authority of this Act shall be evidence of such Statute and of its contents, and every copy thereof purporting to be printed as aforesaid shall be deemed to be so printed unless the contrary is proved.
6. Judicial notice to be taken of reprint - Judicial notice of any Statute reprinted as aforesaid shall be taken by all Courts and persons acting judicially.
7. Statutes continued in force - The New Zealand statutes specified in the Schedule shall continue to form part of the law of Western Samoa so far as and to the extent they are subsisting and in force in Western Samoa at the time this Act comes into force.
As to deletions from the Schedule since its enactment, see the notes thereto.
[8. Statutes repealed - (1) Subject to section 7 of this Act, all enactments and laws whatsoever in force in Western Samoa at the commencement of the Samoa Constitution Order 1920 (New Zealand), in so far as they may be still in force at the commencement of this Act, are hereby repealed.
(2) All United Kingdom or New Zealand statutes heretofore in force in Western Samoa, other than those specified in the Schedule hereto, shall cease to be part of the law of Western Samoa on the coming into force of this Act.
(3) This section shall not affect any document made or anything done heretofore under the authority of any such enactment, laws or statutes and subsisting or in force at the date of commencement of this Act.]
This section was substituted for the original s. 8 by s. 2 of the Reprint of Statutes Amendment Act 1974.

An Act to amend the Reprint of Statutes Act 1972
[28 August 1974
1. Short title - This Act may be cited as the Reprint of Statutes Amendment Act 1974, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Reprint of Statutes Act 1972 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2. This section substituted a new section for s. 8 of the principal Act.
